Regina v. K. K. J. [Provincial Court of Alberta, Calgary – July 2017] – Stolen License Plate

K.K.J. was driving his truck in northeast Calgary when he was pulled over by members of the Calgary Police Service because the vehicle he was driving had a stolen license plate. The police, perhaps out of an abundance of caution, detained K.K.J. at gunpoint. K.K.J. was charged with possession of stolen property under section 334 of the Criminal Code, as well as multiple of other Criminal Code offences for failing to appear in court. Defence lawyer Sean Fagan successfully resolved all of K.K.J’s matters by way of the complete withdrawal of all criminal charges and a plea to a traffic ticket.
